Sometimes the worst thing that can be done is start piling up another set of medications when you have a delicate balance. I know its been a long time (in years).
It has been officially 7 years (Nov 17-18, 2001) since I have had a mysterious heightening of senses (visual, auditory, hypervigilence) disorder which has resulted in a tic, possibly Tardive Dystonia, and the Seroquel is not working as cohesively as it should when I was able to take a trip to Alaska.I am and have the right to be angry, and also wish that things were the same as they were ... ge... even further, back in college, when I was the most independent.
But we look back in time sometimes with rosy lenses, some things were very good, and some not -- in my case I had some anxiety and dysthymia but I graduated, yet that was an anticlimactic event.
We live in the Here and Now. Remember the memories with fondness, imagine them in your head if they help with relaxation therapy, we all have memories, but we live in the present, not the past, and not the future.Living in the past means you'll never experience the present, as bad as it may look, and living in the future makes it impossible to focus on working on your present.
That may be a lot to take in, but I think some therapy, whatever they can manage to give you, beyond the focus on drug X, will help you feel better about your self-esteem as well.
Leave the agents to work, watch their side effects if necessary but not with a magnifying glass, and deal with what you have, what we all have, The Here and Now.
