In reply to Nardil Dosage- When to take, posted by amee200 on October 14, 2008, at 21:53:01
Hi,
Have you checked your BP when you have the chest tightness and shortness of breath symptoms. While on high dosage Nardil, 75mg - 90mg, I had a few spontaneous hypertensive episodes. These were not full blown emergencies but enough of a rise in BP to make me feel very ill. These spontaneous increases in BP are more common on Parnate, but they can happen on Nardil. If you are going to take MAOIs, you should have an automatic blood pressure cuff.As far as timing of dosage, for me, it did not seem to make much difference. My side effects seemed to be more related to the inhibition of MAO, which takes a couple of weeks to reverse even when you quit the medication.
Good Luck,
Jedi
> I am on Nardil for 2 weeks now and have noticed some good effects so far- a mild euphoria that is nice but gone and now a feeling of normalcy. However, during the day I feel combo of tiredness and panic. The tiredness I can deal with if the chest tightness, shortness of breath and tension in the abs weren't so strong. I divide the dose about every 5 hours starting in the am. Strangely, the side effects seem to subside by evening and I feel ok in that regard. My question is has anyone taken the whole dosage at night before, possibly reversing the time at which the side effects occur? I haven't noticed a lot of posts saying anything about the chest, neck tightness and wonder if this is an unusual side effect?
