The 10 mg dose you are taking is low. People are often extremely sensitive to stimulants at first but that goes away after a few weeks. I take 80 mg Adderall which would be somewhat less for the extended release form. The XR version would surely keep me up at night. A lot of people on here are recommending other drugs, but studies show that amphetamine, not ritalin, is usually more effective for ADULT ADD than ritalin and all its cousins. I've tried ritalin before and it just made me irritable, no real benefit. Adderall is the smoothest--i.e., longest lasting, with very gradual decrease in blood levels--ADD drug available for adults; therefore you're much less likely to "crash" on it than you are on most of the other drugs and therefore less likely to abuse it.
