Two stories one when I was a new nurse and decided to accept a day job in psych. A girl probably in her 20's the whole staff was in disbelief as I assume she had been suicidal well before I started working she had only one treatment and was fine. Fixing her nails and hair, happy so much so that the staff thought she'd been faking the depression. So great outcome that story. Second one was a college girl who was suicidal and had ECT. She had to quit college as memory problems we had the same pdoc. I asked him why she'd had ECT and he replied she was so suicidal that was the only way to stop her from the S word. And he said it would probably be three months before she would be good enough to have her memory. Bright note on this she was functioning in the community quite well, driving and stuff like that so I don't feel it's all good or bad individual. Hope this helps Phillipa
