Social security disability

Posted by blueboy on June 20, 2008, at 13:49:52

I haven't been able to work for a long time. It's been five years since I earned a penny. I haven't ever been able to fact the admission that I am "permanently disabled" as I don't want to abandon hope, and also, when I'm manic, I'm sure I'm going to make a bunch of money :)

Anyone have any experience with this? The money would be a big help. I'm only three years away from 62, when I can draw retirement from SSI, and I understand that it can take that long to get a ruling. On the other hand, the disability would be higher than retirement at 62.
