I think Xanax helps my crazy thinking

Posted by chiron on May 26, 2008, at 16:12:37

I take 2mg long-acting xanax.
Example 1: One morning I didn't have it and I felt more down and crazy about the world, more extreme obsession about the meaning of life, death, the universe, the sadness in the world, etc.
Example 2: Today I woke up with my common confliction of wanting to do something but no motivation to do it. Feeling empty and alone even though I have friends I can call. I decided to take a .5mg of fast acting xanax. After about 20 min I actually had some motivation. I didn't feel as down & crazy about how to pass my day.

Unfortunately, xanax is not the med that's probably good to treat this. But these are very common issues that coincide with my depression.

Are these common issues for people with depression?
