I've taken Prozac at 20, 60, 80 mg. It was the first ssri i took, and it worked for my depression.
I've tried most of the others trying to get rid of the insomnia effects of prozac, but I always come back to prozac. P and Z never made me feel sedated--I wish. i have a high tolerance to most meds, thus the 80 mg dosage after a few years.
i used zoloft this year for the first time. It took almost 2 months to work for me at 100mg. after the long wait, it worked well, but still the insomnia. Since it worked so well, I stopped taking it at all for some months now. I take Buspar, and doxepin or notriptyline to aid sleeping, and I'm fine. However, since I am now retired, and no stress to speak of, everything is so mush better. Keeping my fingers crossed though. Good luck finding a med that works without bugging you with adverse side-affects. jets
