There are other options to accutane. I had problems with cystic acne in my late 30's despite never having cystic acne prior. Tetracycline was very effectine in bringing things under control. Injections of cortisone into the cyst is very effective and gives rapid results. Sounds horrible but it is not as the gage of the needle is the finest made. GP can't do this; see a dermatologist.There is lots a dermatologist can do and best to see one, cystic acne will scar and pit your face
if not treated.If you have significant depression accutane is risky.
