Abilify is not used for bipolar, at least not as a first line treatment for it. I would not let that be prescribed based on one pdoc's opinion. Can she have a second opinion done to verify the diagnosis, especially since you say they were investigated for child abuse? Abilify is not a drug to be used in children who cannot tell you really how they are doing. A six year old should not be on an antipsychotic drug without proof she needs this and a second opinion would help to sort this out to prevent giving her a drug that has not been given or tested in that age group.
