Well, really, it's about Lamictal.
My pdoc said that it is possible that my anxiety is being agitated by the Lamictal. Well, I've been having trouble sleeping. Okay, so like an idiot, I take my Lamictal at night. Duuurrrrrrrr. Ok, so tomorrow, I plan on taking some xanax first (to give it a head start), then take all 200 mg of the Lamictal. Then, if my anxiety is still bad, I'll take another dose of xanax (if you haven't seen my other posts, I take .25 mg doses). I'm going to see how that works out.
So far, I have learned:
- Lamictal tears up my stomach. I must take it with milk or a meal.
- Lamictal tastes really bad if it gets stuck on my tongue.
- Lamictal stabilizes my moods awesomely, but makes me a bit anxious, and it's okay to take xanax to relieve the side effect.
- Lamictal isn't a generic because the version approved first was the kind for kids. The pill came later. I haven't read that anywhere, that's what the doc said. It's possible he doesn't really know why. But it's okay, it's not an expensive name brand. ($15)
I'm supposed to taper off of Lexapro at some point. I think I should begin a slow taper. I do not think it was wise that he wanted me to take 5 mg of Lexapro and start Lamictal at the same time. I think that's why that taper wasn't really working out that great. I think I can taper now, but I don't want to mess with anything when I'm about to start a new job!
