Hi,
Most of the studies I've read show the relationship between the consumption of omega-3 fatty acids and depression are inconclusive. I used to take larger doses of 2400mg EPA and 1800mg DHA. My current dosage is derived from looking at the studies on benefits on inflammation and cardiac health. At one point in 2006 I was off Nardil and getting by quite well on high dosage omega-3. But there are so many variables in depression, my success could have been a placebo effect. I eventually went back to Nardil because of the return of major depressive symptoms.

Dosages used in the studies seem to be all over the chart.
Be Well,
Jedi

Accordingly, Dr Cott recommends omega-3 be taken with vitamins C and E. Dr Stoll also recommends taking vitamins C and E with omega-3 (1.5 to 3.5 grams of omega-3 a day, taken with food)."
