Effexor, Wellbutrin and Provigil. Any feedback?

Posted by Clayton on July 11, 2007, at 19:21:19

HI,

I have been taking Effexor XR for almost a year (300 mg/day)with good results as to its anti-depressant effecacy and with no side effects.

Because I continute to suffer from a lack of energy, my PDoc today added Wellbutrin. He said something to the effect that Wellbutrin can produce an energy boost when taken with Effexor. Does anyone have any experience/feedback on this? I was prescribed Wellbutrin four years ago (in conjunction with Remeron) and it did absoltely nothing for me. No discernable effect at all.

THe PDoc had also added 100 mg a day of the mild stimulant Provigil. Anyone have any idea as to why? Is it an additional energy booster/motivator?

Interestingly, I had a PDoc 3 years ago (when I had health insurance) who perscribed 300 mg of Provilig to be taken twice a day (upon awaking and at 12:00 noon). For awhile this helped me more than any anti-depressant I've taken but after a week or ten days it became ineffective. Any knowledge/comments you may have on this are greatly appreciated.

Take Care and Good Luck Everyone.
