There is an obscure benzo called halazepam but it seems unlikely that would be the one he was talking about, and my guess is that it would be just as addictive as the others.

This is probably the one. I was confused because when he said the name, the suffix was -pam, which would make it related to Valium, etc. Maybe he messed up the name when he told me.
