Here are my experiences:

Trial #1-

I was taking it along with 60 mg Strattera. I barely even remember noticing the effects of Provigil. I was taking 100-200 mg daily.

Trial #2-

I began taking 400 mg of Provigil after a period of insomnia and stress, after which I "crashed" and was sleeping 18 hours a day for about 3 weeks. My doctor increased my Lunesta from 2mg to 3mg, to help with sleep. The effects of Provigil were amazing, in terms of keeping me awake all day, especially at the beginning.

It was mood brightening, however also increased my anxiety greatly. I was having mild, but long-lasting panic attacks for the first time in my life. I called my doctor and he doubled my Xanax dosage to 3mg daily. Thank god! It was scarey and I could breath due to the anxiety!

Trial #3:

I'm taking 400mg of Provigil along with 60 mg Ritalin LA for ADHD and fatigue. It's helping so far. I'm also taking 3mg Xanax XR, which helps a little with anxiety. I'm still taking 3mg Lunesta for insomnia.

Side Effects:

- It can cause a slight headache and also increased thirst at first. This goes away after a week or two. It helps to drink a lot of water and avoid or decrease caffeine initially. After the first few weeks, I'm able to drink mega amounts of caffeine again! :)

- I've noticed it can cause some jaw-clenching... probably anxiety related.

- There is some slight nausea.

- It never has interferred with my sleep. That's the nice thing about this drug. It usually allows people to nap or sleep normally, yet is still wake-promoting.

- Any dullness or flatness you are feeling may indicate a too high dose. This can happen with anti-depressants and stimulants. It may be the case with Provigil as well. Maybe you should ask about lowering the dose if this happens.

This is all I can think of right now. Feel free to ask questions!
