Back to CHANTIX, the subject of this thread. It has been out for over 4 months. I've been on it now for 3 months, and have been able to quit smoking. It markedly reduced craving, and especially stopped the chain smoking I was doing. Initially it was very activating to me, with definite antidepressant-like effects. As it indirectly stimulates dopamine receptors, it would make sense that it could augment other antidepressants and be useful for the subgroup of depressed patients responsive to dopaminergics.
