Hi StarGazer
Why am I coming off Nardil you ask?
I have been on Nardil (MAOI) for 14 years now during which time my weight has increased from 9.5 stone to 20 stone. I also suffer badly from insomnia - which is why I have to take both Lortemazepam and Neulactil (pericyazine).
So in order to try to stop the weight gain and insomnia I am currently coming off Nardil. My problems with dry-retching and vomiting have reappeared.
I take Nardil because of its so called 'anxiolytic' effect i.e. it relieves anxiety. Venlafaxine (Exffefor)also is meant to have an anxiolytic effect without the extreme side effects of Nardil.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Could you clarrify what you mean by 'atypical depression'? Does Nardil help this?
