In reply to ZYPREXA (OLANZEPINE) POSITIVE COMMENTS PLEASE, posted by Rani on December 14, 2006, at 0:48:17
i was on a higher dose of 10 of zyprexa but it was the ONLY thing that really worked well for me.
my GP put me on it and it seemed to work, then i went to a pdoc and he took me off it, different pdoc later and MANY drugs later i was put back on zyprexa and stabilized.
even though all the negative things i've heard about it, i would go back on it in a heartbeat cuz i knew it would stop all the 'nasties' that were going on in my head.the first time i was on it i didn't gain any weight, the next time i did, about 45lbs, but no diabetes or sugar level issues. and if i would have watched the eating better i wouldn't have gained so much.
i'm not sure about ronaldo's bad withdrawl experience, he seemed to have been on it much longer than i. i was on it about two years when i went off and my pdoc tapered me off and i had no problems (went off all meds due to pregnancy).
so i think too be more cautious if you will be on it for longer period of time.but again, it worked wonders for me. i wish you the same.
