Hi Lepus,
i have a simular experience. i have sample packs of Cymbalta that i've been afraid to take also because of bad reactions in the past.
It's so hard to be so afraid of meds- bad reactions are no fun. i'm sorry that you have this fear also.
wish i had advice- can only offer to identify and say i understand.
