What you are experiencing is pretty common. You are lucky that you are not suffering worse. Withdrawal from Effexor usually sets in around 3 days after discontinuation. You are probably seeing the worst of it - hopefully. My guess is that you will start to feel better within the next few days, and then gradually improve over the course of a week or two. Believe it or not, it can take quite a few weeks for some people. You just never know. However, it seems like you have a mild to moderate case.

What prompted you to go cold-turkey? Did your doctor suggest a gradual taper?
