> If I can't get the whole label off, I at least destroy the part with my name, my doctor's name, and the medication name. I don't care if the pharmacy and directions are still showing. But at least get rid of that information before throwing out your bottles. I don't know where you live, but California has A LOT of problems with identity theft, and if they had that info plus maybe some other info from your trash that was carelessly tossed out, they could easily take your identity. We have to be paranoid out here, or else I'm going to find out that I bought a boat and a house, and I have neither! (Paper shredder is a lifesaver!) Since living here, I would do it even if I lived somewhere else, because those unsavory people are everywhere, especially where you least expect it (am I being too paranoid?).

Yeah -- sometimes one can become too paranoid although there is identity theft out here (CA). I doubt though medicine is of any interest unless you're involved in some high profile criminal case in which case I think a good attorney would be better...Just wrapping them in your usual plastic bags for the "black cans" or your non-recycleds is probably plenty enough. I doubt anyone cares if you are taking Prozac or whatever, considering the sheer mountain of garbage that is rapidly filling our landfills in So Cal.
