I'm not sure that it would be ethical for your pdoc to prescribe testosterone. Testosterone treatment needs to be initiated and supervised by a specialist in endocrinology/andrology.
Testosterone is not free of side effects. Testicular atrophy (profound shrinkadge of the testes) is one potential side effect.
