Generics are identical chemically, but sometimes the bioavailability is different, i.e. you take 100 mg but only 60 mg gets absorbed. My impression is that for most psychotropics bioavailability is consistently good -- the biggest problems have been with antibiotics.
The best person to ask is your pharmacist. If he/she's like mine they keep on top of issues like bioavailability and interactions between meds. If your pharmacist doesn't seem to know, try another pharmacy, probably a mid-sized one would be best -- they should be happy to discuss the issue with you if they want your business!
