As some of you already know, I suffer from insomnia and adult ADD. Roughly six months ago I was prescribed Lunesta 2mg. It helped at first until I became tolerant. I experienced (just barely noticable if I stared) "trippy" visual hallucinations after taking it; like being on low grade LSD. The pdoc then prescribed Ambien CR 12.5mg, which helped a lot, but it also caused "trippy" effects. As of four days ago she then switched me back to Lunesta 2mg. Now, it has absolutely no effect on me and I still get the "trippy" voodoo.
Well, I left a message with the on-call pdoc because my regular pdoc is out of town until Jan 19th. He wants to see me this Tuesday...???
1) Am I experiencing rebound insomnia due to switching from Ambien CR to Lunesta?
2) Do you think the on-call pdoc suspects salient psychosis or what?
3) Or, am I overreacting with catastrophic thoughts? Grrr, I hate when this happens.
My current med list: Toprol XL 100mg, Prinzide 10/12.5mg, Minoxidil 10mg (all three for hypertension) and Adderall [25mg/day that's divided into three doses]
Any feedback would be a huge help. Thanks!!
