You dont really sound stubborn to me. I come across as a "stubborn" patient but..think about it: a shrink sees for 10-30minutes a month, sometimes less. The are NOT you. You are YOU. You have to live your life and deal with the effects, good or bad, of the medications you take. It makes sense that you should be pretty vocal about what you want and what you will and won't take...in an ideal situation, a doc would be pretty open about side effects, so you could know for sure how good (or bad) you could expect your life to be with given treatments. My fav. doc, for instance, told me flat out that I'd always have issues, and that over-medicating would make those worse; the best balance would be low-dose meds, but I should still expect to have more difficulty than my friends. That was harsh, but I really appreciated it.
