Different effects from Wellbutrin XL vs. SR???

My doc gave me samples of Wellbutrin XL 150mg to try for a week before I see her again after the week is up.
I'm curious. Besides the slower absorption of the XL version compared to the SR version, is there any difference in the overall effects? I mean, has anyone heard of someone preferring one to the other? Doing well with one but not with the other?
If I make it through the week I will probably ask for the SR version. But I would appreciate any and all feedback on Wellbturin XL vs SR.
So far, just day one, seems pretty tame to me.
