What are people's thoughts on cycling Adderal and Ritalin to avoid this? What type of cycling pattern would be optimum? For me I was thinking two days of each, each time possibly with the fifth day dedicated to caffeine only. Are these drugs too similar in their methods of action to exploit their powerful transient AD properties on an ongoing basis via cycling?

Hi Eric.

How long does the effectiveness last for - 3 days?

I don't know how well cycling between stimulants would work for you, but the two drugs do have different properties.

Methylphenidate is primarily a DA reuptake inhibitor. Amphetamine is primarily a DA and NE releaser, although it will inhibit reuptake at higher dosages. I recall that methylphenidate does exert some pro-NE effects, but I can't remember what they are and at what dosage they become important. It might be an NE reuptake inhibitor since different alleles coding for the NE transporter seem to be associated with varying behavioral effects.

Please post the results of your experiment.
