It sounds to me like you are looking for more time with someone to talk about meds, versus having a five minute med check and then therapy. Is that right?
There are pdocs who do therapy, or who at least will spend more time with you. I see mine for an hour each time, although lately I wonder if it's worth the time and price. (I also see a therapist.) It may require you to change pdocs, and this can take lots of phone calls to find someone who does that who is also taking new clients. You might try looking in the phone book under psychotherapists to see if any MD's are listed. You might also see if there is a referral service for pdocs from your state's professional organization for psychiatry. It's usually called [state name] Psychiatric Association.
