In reply to Does Wellbutrin contribute to PMS?, posted by april8 on October 23, 2005, at 12:45:52
i am not a women but it makes sense. PMS is caused from a temp decrease in chemicals related to allpregnanolone, pregnanolone, progesterone, and ultimatly gaba-a receptor lowered. Welbutrin lowers the seizure threshold so its no surprise it would make PMS worse. It could also modulate allpregnanolone levels , as some antidepressants work just this way but usually positively, not negatively.
