Most medications can be detected in the blood stream if the test is designed to scan for them. Most drug-screening involves drugs of abuse (pot, meth, coke, benzos), so most other meds won't show up (sometimes though, other meds--like diet pills--will give false-positives for related compounds). If you're taking a drug test, they're probably just scanning for commonly abused illegal or controlled substances. Since people still have *some* privacy in the US (granted, not a whole lot of it seems to be left), employers have to tread lightly when it comes to obtaining info about something as private as employee's medical treatments.
