Unfortunately, most of the clinical trials that involve antidepressants have rarely exceeded 10 weeks. However, there have been a few longitudinal studies that have followed people for five years and more. One of the most important findings of such studies is that the dosage of an antidepressant that successfully treats the depression acutely is the same dosage that should be used for long-term maintenance.
What sorts of things are you interested in discovering with long-term studies? Just curious.
