Have you tried any TCAs? Just a half formed thought for you.
I had the same sorts of problems with Paxil: felt half asleep most of my life, gained half a ton of weight (50+ pounds), but wasn't depressed.
Except about my weight, that is.
Unfortunately, the weight took forever to go away once I stopped the drug. Even then, it only really went away because I had a relapse of anorexia.
I'm wondering, though, if maybe trying to augment the Paxil with something else might help? Topamax for the weight gain, maybe? Or Provigil for energy?
Problably, though, switching to another med altogether might be a better solution. Dunno what to suggest, though, since I really only know about the meds I've been on... Right now, much as I'm still struggling with some problems from it, Cymbalta is doing pretty well for me, combined with Wellbutrin. Might be worth trying?
One thing that has helped me a LOT when I'm worried about this sort of thing is to check SLS's medication chart to see what mechanisms the "good drug" has, and check to see if there's something with a similar effect. Might be worth trying for you, too? http://sl.schofield3.home.att.net/medicine/psychiatric_drugs_chart.html
Good luck. And maybe we'll hear from one of the resident experts.
