Well, the truth is I haven't really tried all that hard when it comes to treating ADD. THe more significant problem in my life has always been mood, but now that my mood is somewhat improved, I'm interested in focusing on attention. I am noticing more and more how much of a problem it is for me. One thing, though, is that I think taking lithium might be making it worse... hard to tell, though.
Mostly I just measured by subjective feelings of improved attentiveness, concentration, focus, and lessened distractibility. Adderall didn't seem to help much, and made me feel really bad emotionally. Ritalin and Provigil might have helped just a slight bit, but nothing profound. I've experimented with different doses on all 3.
I've taken Wellbutrin for depression, didn't do anything. I wasn't paying attention to if it helped with attention (no pun intended!). But when I took it again for a few days this past February, it was a REALLY bad experience (I was also on Cymbalta at the time), and I doubt that my shrink would prescribe it again. I suppose I could try it again now that I'm not on Cymbalta (I still have some left).
Or I could try Strattera or Dexedrine.
