Help - No Sleep, ... ED, others :( Thank you

Posted by temoigneur on May 27, 2005, at 0:08:24

This was paste from a letter I sent to a friend, I can't sleep, never have been able to on SSRI's, but Prozac, not the others, work otherwise brilliantly, initially.....( I'm going to ask if I can try augmenting with bromocriptine, if it poops out., any suggestions, xyrem, barbituates, dexedrine, (causes sedation for me but don't know about the quality of sleep I'd get.) Any Suggestions much appreciated.

.. Last night I didn't sleep till 4:00, and then only for 2 hrs. I'm writing you because I know you've tried so many things, including barbituates, and was wondering if you might be able to give me any information on them, or xyrem maybe. I was even wondering about dexedrine, as it makes me drowsy, but the pharmacist said it wouldn't be likely to give me a good quality sleep. Is it ever effective to alternate between ambien and zopiclone? I have tolerance to immovane - Ahhhh I just want to kill something - and I'm sedated!!!! So it's basically Prozac induced insomnia, on just tca, I have a low level, mind numbing euphoria.

The Good news, is that on the first of June, I'm FINALLY, seeing a psychiatrist, who's purpoted to be good - (I don't have the nerve to be skeptical.... consciously:) Anyway, I'm desperately hoping he'll look at my sordid record, and be willing to try something that may have promise.

Thank you
