(for them) I guess I would consider giving it another go but I already have a very hard time with dry mouth and throat at night and that is why I have'nt given it another shot.... even though its' an anti-histamine, does it still have the major s/e of drying you out even more? I take Flonase and Allegra-180 for allergies so I would'nt want to make things any worse.
> can anybody comment or offer a solution. Even though I take 15mg of Valium at 9 or 10 pm a lot of the time I still don't go to sleep that easy and my p-doc wont rx me any more Ambien cuz he said the Valium should be doing the trick! I need desperately to get my sleep wake cycle back in order!
> SnapperFrom what I understand, all anthistamines have varying effects on the drying side effects (anti-cholinergic effects). Benadryl is probaby the strongest anticholinergic. I don't like to use that one for sleep because of that reason. It's been a long time since I tried hydroxyzine (about 20 years), so I can't remember how drying that one is. From what I remember, I don't recall any unusual drying effects. I'm thinking about asking my pdoc about using this one for sleep.
