I have bp with anxious and OCD syndromes in bad phases.
When I went to my pdoc I first took many SSRIS (caused panic attacks, OCD thoughts -> only negative). I think that was the time SSRIS were used for everything (pdoc explained the wonderful theory of more serotonin in synaptic cleft, that was in my highschool years). Then I prescribed myself "mood-stabilizers" like Lamictal alone(caused some minor mania->useless),
then I took Zyprexa (sleeping nonstop 3 days, bad mood). I do not have any positive experience with these stabilizers. Only with low benzo, something metabolized to nordiazepam I had success. Clonazepam also helped a lot but it caused some lethargie and total sexual disfunction (too bad). Why not taking a long-acting benzo for bp?-I dont see any reason against it.
Some comments to my experiences and questions are welcome!
