Amisulpride is unique in a way though. Its not like other atypicals. At lower doses it increases dopamine but at higher doses it reduces it. I forget which part of the brain it does this. I think this is only doses 200mg and lower.
Amisulpride (Solian) was the first antipsychotic to give me Tardive Dyskinesia. It went away though after stopping it for a long time but I got it back again with Zyprexa =/
I was on it with Prozac too I think, for a while anyway. I was on it for quite a long time. First at 100mg then 200mg. Those doses are usually indicated for negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Then my dose was slowly increased to 600mg then 800mg which is more for positive symptoms. Anyway I found it quite hard to tollerate and it caused considerable akathisia for me. Some people love it but myself (and one of my friends who was on it, who also got TD from it) cant handle it.
Take care.> > Hi to all!
