Hi:
The Trazodone is, in my opinion through the experience, ... quite a 'strong/raw type of A.D.,' in comparison to newer class of A.D.s which have, in my view, refifned A.D.property. Partly, in my guess, ... the Trazodone is one of older A.D.s. or 'first-generation.' However, when I needed to replace for the Serzodone/Nefadozone due to a loss of its efficacy, the Trazodone saved me from going into the deep end. Then, at least I can say, the Trazodone is a good A.D. for me. However, in most cases, the Trazodone widely rx for 'sleep-aid,' rather A.D. For the first part of the Trazodone, I had sedation problem. However, that/sedation went away with time, ... but took quite awhile. Then, unless you are NOT able to find a proper A.D., I'm quite hesitant to suggest this med., Trazodone.First of all, ... in order to get a good A.D. effect, you need to take at least 150 mg. before the bed. That's an awful dosage if you're not familiar with this med. Also, you MAY need to take some 'stimulant' med., like a small dosage of Wellbutrin SR to counteract its S.E.s, such as drowsiness, although I can not remember about memory problem from taking the Trazodone. I'm one of those who is NOT med.sensitive to take all different type of med., including atypical med., 'Zyprexa' and other 'potent' med. For that reason, probably the Trazodone doesn't bother me after all, but at first, I had a trouble, mostly 'sedation,' 'dry mouth,' and others(I can not recall in detail tho').
In my case, after three or four months on the Trazodone(from 150 mg. to 225mg. daily), my depression along with Anxiety started to diminish gradually, ... particularly I have NO anxiety whatever, after taking this med., Trazodone.
