> Anyone concerned about Gabitril in light of the recent warnings about seizures?
If I was taking Gabitril off-label for sleep or anxiety or whatnot I *would* be concerned. I remember when I trialed the stuff in the past noting that there was a pretty significant amount of *increased* seizures reported in the PI. Anticonvulsants can make seizures *worsen* in some individuals that have seizures and are being prescribed the AED's "on-label". Anybody correct me if I'm wrong.. but I think it is now *illegal* for drug co. sales reps to "push" medications for off-label uses to psychiatrists. This warning is probably, primarily, wise CYA on the part of the drug co. If they can't push the meds with pdocs to increase sales, then they certainly do not want to get sued over pdocs using them off-label. Just a hunch.
