If cavities are the only reason you're cutting back, there are prescription toothpastes and dental rinses available with a high concentration of fluoride. Examples would be Prevident (toothpaste with 1.1% sodium fluoride) and Colgate Point-Two dental rinse (0.2% sodium fluoride). Both are very effective at preventing decay, even if you have dry mouth, and can even reverse existing decay if it hasn't advanced too far.
