It is very sedative no doubt. I think it also disrupts sleep (for me anyhow) in some other extra way that might contribute to daytime drowsiness that may make it seem more sedative than it would be if it didn't disrupt sleep. On a positive note :) I found that the cognitive sfx did fade, but it wasn't a good thing to be in your system in the middle of a depressive episode that was relatively unmixed. I get REALLY sleepy at 500mg (IF I'm in a depressive phase).
