~~~I'm in the same position as you in terms of limited choices. While I currently don't need an AD, should I need one in the future, I would consider TCA's or even MAOI's or possibly the uncategorized Remeron. The newer AD's don't have a track record of being better than the older choices, just less reported SE and problematic issues. Some folks do well with Wellbutrin even with high anxiety states. It may take a good steady dosing of a benzo to ease the startup, but that works for some and things settle out.

The serotonin effect comes from a isomer of Prozac. Maybe, the doc believes that could be different for you - in a good way.
