Hi,
I just started taking the generic tablets (30mg)after being on the soltabs for only two weeks, so although i can't speak for the long term, I have a very recent account of the initial side effects of the soltabs as compared to the pills. The dosages, my doc tells me, are equivalent.
Oddly it seems that I experienced a completely different set of side effects on the soltabs including nausia (which i never ever experienced before) blurred vision and dizziness and a feeling of being "drunk" for the first 4 or 5 days. With the pills I seemed slightly agitated but that's about it with the sleepiness etc. that usually occurs. I was almost concerened that the pills were not working because my side effects seemed so very different from the soltabs, however i am convinced that is not the case. As small a difference from the soltabs to the generic seem, they really did have very different side effects for me (initial phase) but i am now noticing that the general efficacy of the pills seem to be just as helpful as the soltabs. and the savings is a plus! best of luck to you.
