> I am posting for the first time because I have just begun taking Remeron 30mg/day along with the Effexor XR 300mg I was previously taking and 60mg Adderall for ADD (which, as a plus, has also helped me control the munchies from the Remeron). Anyway, I had been "trying out" the Remeron via my doctors samples for 12 days and had fantastic results. I felt lucid and that black fog of intense and unrelenting guilt and sorrow lifted for the first time in 2 years. Well, downside is that due to weekend mix-ups with my doc etc. I did not get more Remeron until 4 days later. I am now at day 3 of my "second round" on Remeron. I appreciate your patience, I know this is long, but to get to the point...during that four day window I got what seemed like a normal cold. I am severly congested and cold and decongestant otc meds are having no effect. I have read about the white blood cell count warning re Remeron and am wondering if I should be worried about this cold which seems to not be getting better...I usually bounce back from colds in a day or two...anyway...anyone with info or comments? Thank you again for reading this and once again if you post.

I have taken Remeron(15mg) for about 4 years stopping for 2 weeks twice. Speaking for myself it has been a very helpfull adjunct for sleep and anxiety. The previous poster mentioned case reports of infection and that is correct. Fortunately I have had none of those symptoms and the benefits far outweigh the possible risks for me. Good Luck. JN
