I will never forget how imipramine saved me from a real horrible major depressive syndroms..and was my first ever AD.
However, looking back, I think that I should not have stayed on an AD for longer than 3-6 months,as in my case, their side effects out weight their benefit dramatically.
Now, I do not believe in having to use an AD longterm or a lifetime....
IMOHO apart from real major depression,AD's are better avoided....I found that some benzo use are enough for other lesser problems such as GAD,social anxiety ..etc (I have had all of them)bec nothing could be as close as a full- blown major depression.
Just my opinion,nothing more,
Dark Horse.
