I'm not certain what your panic attack symptoms are, but Lexapro is only going to lower your overall anxiety levels. If a situation is unusually stressful, and your anxiety levels rise to the point of triggering panic attack symptoms such as shortness of breath, pounding heart, sweating, etc., I do not believe the Lexapro has the ability to do much good at that point. For those kinds of symptoms, you really need a drug that works strongly on norepinephrine, such as some of the tricyclics or an MAOI.Todd
