I got off by getting down to the lowest dose and then alternating taking the med every other day for about a week. I also took Benadryl at night because I developed an itchy rash that kept me awake. By tomorrow, you may very well be feeling more depressed than you have ever felt in your life, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is the same as your original depression. The Effexor withdrawal made me feel worse than I did to begin with. Please read about L-Tryptophan at www.healthrecovery.com and give it a try. It is very effective for mild depression, anxiety, and sleeping problems. That's what I'm using and it works for me. However, don't mix it with antidepressants. Keep us posted on how your withdrawal is going. I will not ever go back on Effexor and I probably will not ever go back on any antidepressant of any kind. I no longer trust doctors, the pharmaceutical industry, or the FDA.
