One thing to note is that genotyping tests to determine liver enzyme function are often covered by insurance. This was the case with me, at least, and I think my insurance is pretty below average in terms of coverage for a lot of things.
I actually pushed to get the CYP-2D6 test, based on reactions to a number of meds, and found out that I'm an intermediate metabolizer. So this means using caution with drugs that are substrates of 2D6.
