meds and weight gain again

Posted by rudialexander on November 28, 2004, at 14:19:01

This topic's been explored lots before, but I haven't been active on Psychobabble for a while and wondered if people have new tips for dealing with it or if there has been any more research done on the mechanisms which cause it.
I gained 30 pounds on Zoloft many years ago, exercised some of it off, and then got put on Depakote for just-diagnosed bipolar 2 and have gained most of it back. I am hungry all the time. I know my metabolic rate is normal (found a nutritionist, took a test). I exercise regularly. This extra weight is really bugging me. And yes, I've tried Wellbutrin (well-meaning advice I've gotten before)-- it doesn't work for me.
