Effexor didn't do much for me either but I'm going to try Cymbalta soon. It's a different drug, more noradrenergic and generally more tolerable than Effexor - judging from the early reviews here. There have been reports of people who have not had success with Effexor but who are finding success with Cymbalta. I'll let the board know if I am one of them or not. I guess the only way you'll know for sure about yourself is if you try it.

I'll let some of the others here speak to the other medications you've mentioned as I don't know what your issues are or what you're looking for the medication to do for you. Also I'm quite biased because I had trouble tolerating Nortriptyline and I had no success at all with Paxil.
