Depersonalization - A state in which the normal sense of personal identity and reality is lost, characterized by feelings that one's actions and speech cannot be controlled.

ie.... Being happy on the outside, but feeling on the inside as if this persona being portrayed, is not what one actually feels on the inside... Sounds to me as if he is not TRULY happy, so therefore his actual (UNHAPPY) inner-self is not in control of the cognitive self's state of emotion. Made sense to me, but to each his own...
